Hopes for CSBT to be part of ESF Project

CSBT/SCL are pleased to report that we hope to be part of an ESF Project led by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Learning Partnership and managed by the Department for Work and Pensions – we understand that this funded project runs to December 2023.

We now look to recruit Volunteers and Secondments from our Partner Organisations many of whom would have been involved in the 2014-15 Green Build Hub Project and the Libnam, Ecobee and Shadow cross channel projects together with others from further afield who are interested in promoting and developing skills in the sustainable construction sector.

With your support we hope to produce an on-line learning curriculum consisting of a portfolio of short modules. We currently envisage topics such as :

  • Understanding Energy
  • Heat Pumps
  • Geothermal
  • Solar Panels
  • Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems
  • Water Saving
  • Battery Storage
  • UK Energy Production Options
  • Building Retrofit
  • Combined Heating Systems
  • Post Contract Building Performance Monitoring
  • The Circular Economy in the Construction Sector

Many of those topics relate to how we designed and constructed the Green Build Hub so many of you will have significant experience that we could use in the first instance to establish a workshop narrative. This in turn can be developed into a video story board from which the sound and vision on-line learning units can be produced for distribution via the IT Learn Dash Platform. The team will be based at GBH although remote working may apply subject to pandemic restrictions.

So if you wish to get involved with us in what we think will be a challenging but rewarding venture please in the first instance contact us at

E: admin@csbt.org.uk or call us on T: 01726 810241

We will then arrange a video call with you to review together what qualifications and experience you can contribute to this worthwhile project.

We at CSBT/SCL look forward to hearing from you.
